The
conditions were very brutal this weekend. Very high winds and rough
water made for some tough fishing in open areas. Temps were very
nice in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. Water temps were in the
upper 50’s to low 60’s. Fish were making beds and the spawn has
started.
Top
honors went to Aaron LaRocque and Joe Hall with a two day total of
16 bass weighing 46.02. Aaron and Joe were flipping and pitching
timber and undercut banks. Aaron said the secret was to use the
heavier jig to get them to the bottom fast, tight line the jig and
wait for the bass to bite. Aaron and Joe are local river rats that
were very happy to finally win this tournament. They have been
fishing this tournament for 9 years.
Second
place goes to the team of
Rick Billings
and Tom Hoeft with 16 bass weighing 44.30. Rick and Tom were
flipping timber and under cut banks. Rick also said they changed
thing up and threw Rattle Traps, Swim Jigs and Spinner Baits.
Third
place went to Doug Stanton and Bill Jennison with 16 bass weighing
43.48. Doug said they were flipping and pitching undercut banks,
timber and points. They were using plastics and jigs to catch there
fish.

Peterson. An 3.96 Largemouth.

Imaging. The boat awarded to the fundraising team of Tom Whitehead
and Jim Smith.
