While the temperature was for the most part pleasant the weather
was in flux during both days with periods of both overcast and sun.
For most of the day the anglers reported slow fishing and then the
would find an area where they would catch several keepers quickly.
Once the smoke settled Rob Bartholomew took top honors by
bringing a 2-day total of 24.26 lbs to the scale. This tournament
completed a solid season for Rob and also clinched the 2007
Angler-of-the-Year title for him as well. Rob was fishing the grass
in the south end of the pool and caught his fish on a frog and a
Strictly Bass spinnerbait.
The second place sack, weighing 23.35lbs, was caught on sweet
beavers, buzzbaits, chatterbait, etc. This sack was brought in by
2006 AOY, Scott Seager who confessed he was simply junk fishing.
Well what ever one calls it, it worked.
3rd Place went to Richie Eaves who staged a come-from-behind run
by bringing in the largest sack of the second day but it was not
enough to overcome the tough day he had on day 1. Richie's combined
weight was 18.15lbs.
