From L to R: Rick Cloninger, Roger Koopman,
John (JJ) Patton
The day was very overcast and threatened rain
all day but for the most part we only had mist and light rain but
the wind did blow which made those that made long runs a bit sore
on the ride back to weigh-in. The water temperature had fallen
over the last several days about 7 degrees and the level had
dropped over a foot which made some areas tough to fish but most
anglers found some fish to bring to the scale.
John (JJ) Patton, from Eldridge, IA, rolled up
his sleeves and ran to pool 15 of all places to bring in the big
sack of the day. He claimed 1st place honors with his 10.23lbs
catch. JJ reported he caught all of his fish on brushhawgs.
2nd Place was earned by Roger Koopman with 4
bass weighing 9.60lbs. This sack included the Big Bass that weighed
3.55lbs. Roger reported he caught his fish in Sunfish Slough and
Sunset Marina on spinnerbaits and on a Gambler jig. He is sponsored
by Gambler Boats, Pine Point Resort, and Auto Trim and Sign.
3rd place went to Rick Cloninger with a limit
weighing 8.31lbs. All of his fish were caught in current inside
Sylvan Slough using a lizard or a plastic craw.
