Yesterday
was a beautiful day for be out on the water catching a tan, and
some bass. At take off the temperatures were in the mid-50’s and
they warmed quickly all day. Water temps and were found to range
from 59 early in the channel to 69 late in some backwater areas.
Water clarity ranged just as much depending on where you looked.
It truly was a day that an angler could pick their strength and go
to town.
Our
winner and Big Bass recipient was visiting Asst Director Jay
O’Connell. Jay located a backwater area near the launch area and
parked all day. He threw just about his entire arsenal along one
particular stretch of bank and cam up with 3 Larry’s for a total
of 8.98 lbs. His stringer included the day’s big bass of 5.03
lbs. Jay was convinced that the hum of Director Chris DeVries’
Optimax worked just like a Biosonix unit. Twice during the day Jay
landed a keeper as he motored by, including the 5 pounder.
Second Place went to Jason Benoit. Jason brought fish in from pool
15 and 16, and indicated that he caught them every where he
fished. He weighed in 4 fish for 7.16 lbs.
Third
place went to Chris DeVries with two fish for 6.75, including big
bass runner up of 4.53 lbs. Chris caught his keepers after 1pm in
the same area as Jay, on a Secret Weapons Spinnerbait.

May20 on Pool 14…ramp location is currently pending due to a new
