The day
started out overcast and foggy but cleared throughout the day
bringing out the sun for a few hours before blowing in some rain
around weigh-in time. The water temp was right around 80 degrees and
the winds were light.
The winner of this
event was Roger Koopman from Andalusia, IL. He brought in 5 bass
weighing 12.4lbs. The winning fish were caught on a Denny Brauer Pro
Model jig on sandbars and wood along the main river. Roger is
sponsored by Pine Point Lodge.
Rocco Marrari took
2nd place and big bass fishing brush piles in 5-7 feet of water with
a V&M red shad worm. His catch weighed 12.1lbs containing the
3.07lbs big fish. He is sponsored by V&M & Bassmedics.
In 3rd place was
tournament director, Ryan Christoffer with 11.6lbs. His fish were
all caught off docks with weed and current near them. All his fish
were caught on a jig. He is sponsored by Secret Weapon Lures.
