The
day started out with 23 mph winds, with gusts to 30 mph, overcast
and an outside temperature of 46 degrees. Main channel water
temperatures were in the 47 to 48 degree range with some backwater
areas in the low 50's. within 30 minutes of take-off, the rain
started and it rained off and on all day.

The
winners of this event was the team of JJ Patton and Rob Groene -
they weighed in 13.65 lbs of fish. JJ stated "We fished soft
plastics in backwater spawning areas, working the first drop very
slow with light weights - I would like to give special thanks to
Brovarney Baits."

Second
place was the team of Darrin Hannah and Tom McMahon who had 12.87
lbs and also took the big bass honors with a beautiful 5 lb
largemouth. Darrin said "We primarly fished backwater areas
with weeds. All of our fish were caught on jigs and crankbaits. If
the sun would have came out a bit, I think our bite would have
been much better."

Third
place was the team of Tony Hall and Bill Baker who had 8.82 lbs,

Tim
Domaille and Adam Hermsen who took fourth with 8.26 lbs.
The
tough conditions yeilded no limits of fish and only 10 teams
weighed any fish at all.
I would like to thank Brook Rodenbeck and his lovely wife
and daughter for all their hard work putting this tournament
together. Despite the uncooperative weather, a great time was had
by all!!
