A
spell of fall type weather and rainy conditions during
pre-fishing, kept some of the weights and numbers down for the
Grant County Bass Club 4-man open.
26 teams participated in this fun event, that puts a team
of four anglers against each other, each team is allowed to weigh
12 fish.
Take
off Sunday morning was hampered by the fog that rolled in, but by
9:00 a.m. the sun was out and the temperatures began to climb.
The
first place team had a weight of 30 lb. 12 oz. and was comprised
of Chris Malard, Dave Vahauton, Bill Heverly and Tony Stevenson.
Members of this team drove from
Nebraska
and arrived at the ramp that morning to fish.
Congrats on first place and for covering the most miles to
fish this event!
Second
place brought in another quality limit of bass that weighed 28 lb.
7 oz. The team was
comprised of Euduley, Schmitz, Quackanbush and Krueger.
Rounding
out the top three was Bob Munduck, Shawn Carter, Bob Pack and
Brian Seany. This
team's weight was 26 lb. 2 oz.
Big
bass of the tournament was brought in by the team of Wolf, Wolf,
Brinkman and Hutchcroft. The
big bass was dandy 4 lb. 4 oz. largemouth.
This was the only 4 lb. fish weighed in.
A
large majority of the bass weighed in were largemouth, but some
teams keyed in on the early morning smallmouth bite.
