1st Place Jason Berg and Brad Cline
1st place – Jason Berg and Brad Cline –
16.2lbs, 4 smallmouths, 1 largemouth.
Smallies were caught on Green pumpkin All-Terrain creature
baits. Largemouth
caught on All-Terrain 3/8 ounce proto-type spinnerbait.
Smallmouth were in 4 -8 ft of water.
Largemouth was in really shallow water.
The team commented that the key to the win was focusing on
smallmouth that were staging to spawn.
Jason and Brad agree that cold water is the key to having
this pattern be successful. Once the water warms up the big
smallmouth scatter onto the shallow flats to begin their spawning
cycle. The trick is to find the staging areas which both agreed
can be very difficult because of the vast amount of water. After the tournament both Jason and Brad commented on
how they really enjoy fishing Fishers of Men tournaments because
the people who fish the events are really nice for the most part
and it is not as stressful as some other circuits.
Jason will be fishing the Stren Series and Fishers of Men
circuit for 2006. Brad will be fishing the Silverado Pro-Ams and Fishers of Men
for 2006. Jason and
Brad want to thank- All-Terrain tackle, G-loomis rods, and Ranger
boats.
