The
duo of Josh Duggan and Tim Willihnganz took home the top honors in
the 4-Lakes Bassmasters tournament July 28-29, 2007. They filled
their Mazanet Marine Ranger Z20 livewells with two, 6 fish limits
of 24.69-pounds and 17.33-pounds, respectively, to secure their
victory. Duggan reported catching their big bag in weedbeds on
Saturday as a result of the steady wind. Day 2 was more of a
challenge as the wind subsided and their fish scattered. By 10:00
am, they only had two fish in the livewell but managed to pull out
a solid limit after bouncing onto the right spot. The Duggan –
Willihnganz team earned $1325 for the win + $200 for Big Bass
(5.31) Day 1.
In
second place was the team of Brian Saari and Bill Fleming. They
had a limit weighing 24.40 pounds and followed that up with a
15.90 sack on Sunday. On Day 1, they had their final weight by
10:00 am. Saari stated that they did not have a single fish by
8:30 am, but made a few adjustments to their prefishing strategy
which allowed them to load the boat. On Day 2, Saari and Fleming
struggled in comparison to their previous day’s performance, but
still manage a limit to closeout the day. For their efforts, they
took home $725 for
2nd Place
+ $100 for Second Big Bass (4.96 lbs) Day 1.
