Guy Thistle and Brandon Clemens Take Top Honors!
Lake Wisconsin, April 28, 2007, by Darin Roddick-Small

Air Temperature: 72 degrees
Water Temperature: 58 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained, muddy in the river
Skies: Sunny and the winds from the N/NW at 15-20

It was a picture perfect start to the day, it was 50 degrees and the skies were clear with light winds and everyone at the docks were talking about it. Most people could not remember the last time in this tournaments 12 year history where the weather was going to be this nice. The fish are in a prespawn mode to spawning, depending where you were fishing. The only down side to this day was that the winds were to pick up and the river was dirty and rising. After the tournament was completed, everyone found out that the fish were cooperating for everyone, but most could not find the quality bites needed to compete.

The team of Guy Thistle and Brandon Clemens took top honors today and for there efforts, they were rewarded with $1800. The Duo brought to the scales a six fish limit that included all small mouths and weighed in at an impressive 22.10 pounds. The two were fishing in 5-10 feet of water and were working plastics during the day. Both Guy and Brandon live in the Lodi , Wisconsin area. Congratulations for your victory guys, great bag of fish.

Second place went to Don Bakken from Madison and Tim Willihnganz from Pardivilee. This team brought in a 6 fish limit of small mouths that went 21.51 pounds. These two also spent there day up on the river as well. These two were fishing in 5 feet of water and were working plastics for spawning smallies. They offered thanks to Marshall Amplification for their support.

The team of Jason Burnham and Tyler Nelson captured third place with their efforts today. The two were fishing the river as well and weighed six small mouths with a weight of 19.73 pounds. These two were fishing in 1-5 feet of water with both plastics and crank baits on rock and wood. They would like to thank their sponsors: Dorn Hardware, G Loomis Rods, Evinrude Motors and Mazanet Marine.

Big Bass honors went to Josh Duggan and Gregg Grauvogal with a bass that went 5.08 pounds. 2nd Big bass was a small mouth that went 4.89 pounds and was caught by the third place team of Burnham and Nelson. Congratulations to these two teams for their catches.

Madison Bass would like to thank all competitors for their efforts today and also their sponsors for their support to make this event possible. Their sponsors include Stark motors. They would also thank Beck’s on the water for helping to run this event today.
