U.S. Angler's Choice Glacier Lake Division

Mike and Andrew Nitchals Earn The Win!
Green Lake (Spicer), July 15, 2006, By Dave Cindrich

Mike Nitchals and  Andrew Nitchals make a great showing on Green Lake!

This father / son team made a great showing to win the third event of U.S. Angler’s Choice Glacier Lake Division. The team had not spent much time on Green Lake because of the catch and release restrictions of the past and only fished it for fun in the spring and the fall. The summer patterns are a whole new deal to this father and son team. The team had pre fished for three days, about 16 hours total. The teams pre fishing plans only panned out in one spot. They were using Strike King and Piccssio spinner baits in about 10 to 12 f.o.w. They weighed in a 5 fish limit of small mouth. All the keepers where caught from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The Team is sponsored by Skeeter Boats and are on the Team Skeeter Pro Staff.

2nd place team Brian Krause and Mark Allen

Brian and Mark have been fishing as a team for about 6 weeks. The team had plenty of time to pre fish and feel there pattern held up very well. The team used mainly three baits that caught there big fish, and caught about 9 other good fish with them. They weighed in all small mouths. The team caught all their fish in the mid range of depth, they threw spinner baits and top water. They reported pre fishing with no hooks on there baits. The Teams sponsors are Nisswa Marine, Triton Boats, BuyaBassBoat.com, Gamakatsu, Spro Crank Baits and Northland Tackle.

3rd place Clint Seehusen and Brent Seehusen

Clint and Brent have been fishing as a tournament team for about six years. This was the fist time they have spent time on Green Lake. The team pre fished for two days, and they feel there pre fishing paid off. They started out on rock piles and site fishing, they also had a little top water bite in the morning. They then headed for deeper water and started getting them going. The team used Sammy's for the top water bite and used tube baits. Most of the keeper fish where caught in 8-10 f.o.w. The bump master reported a 60/40 ratio of small mouth to large mouth.

Big Bass Honors went to Wayne Zepplin. 4.40lbs.

U.S. Angler’s Choice Glacier Lake division would like to give a special thanks to Melvin’s on the Lake without them this event would not be possible. Please remember to support all host of tournament events in MN. without our host we would not have tournaments!
