U.S. Angler's Choice

Team Vetesnik Victorious at Castlerock!
Castle Rock Lake, May 27, 2006, By Paul Strege

The Vetesnik Power Sports fishing team of Dan Mancini and Paul Strege took home the top honors and the big bass award at the U.S. Angler’s Choice – Wisconsin Division event on Sunday May 27, 2007 at Castle Rock Lake . They weighed 4 smallmouth and 1 largemouth for a combined 13.57 pounds. Despite very strong westerly winds that would make simply running around the flowage difficult, the team assembled their winning limit by focusing on post-spawn smallmouth in the morning and cruising largemouth in the afternoon. Flipping Snack Daddy tubes and buzzing Gambler Cane Toads proved to be the winning combination. Coming in second place was the team of Kevin Dillingham and Jody Hauser. The runner-up duo also weighed a 12.01 pound mixed bag of smallmouth and largemouth bass. Rounding out the top three was Brian Elsing and Mark Elsing with 10.38 pounds.

The next U.S. Angler’s Choice Wisconsin Division event will be held at the Madison Chain on June 17.
