Brian Krause and
Mark Allen Earn The Win! The second event of U.S. Angler’s Choice,
Glacier Lake Division. MN.
Brian
Krause and Mark Allen brought a 5 fish limit of small mouths to the scales
to earn the win. Although
Koronis
Lake
is known as a large mouth lake, this team has proven twice that it holds
fantastic small mouths. Krause
and Allen were the 2006
Koronis
Lake
champions for the Glacier Lake Division.
The team didn’t spend a lot of time pre-fishing but did
concentrate on the patterns that earned them the win in 2006.
The team feels everything went as well as could be expected.
They caught fish throughout the day, but the quality fish were
caught later in the day. All
the fish were caught in deep water. The
team caught a total of about 16 smallies and culled about 6 times.
The team used drop shot rigs with Northland Tackle Slurpies, jig
worm combinations, and Salmo crank baits.
Krause and Allen have a lot of confidence in the Slurpies made by
Northland Tackle, they are impregnated with sow sauce.
Its been a great bait for them especially in deep water.
The
teams sponsors are Northland Tackle, Spro, Gamakatsu Hooks, All Terrain
Tackle, Skirts Plus, Vexlar, Mercury Outboards, Triton Boats, and Salmo

Joe and
Paul Patock 2nd Place
Koronis
Lake
Joe
and Paul Patock take 2nd place. Only one partner did any
prefishing for this event. There pre-fishing plans paid off well. They
caught their fish on a variety of baits, a couple on drop shots and other
finesse baits. The fish were caught in the morning and late in the day.
The 2nd place bag
was 3 smallmouths and 2 largemouths.
The
teams sponsors is Americas Team.
3rd
place team was David Cindrich and Daryl Joens . The team brought a 5 fish
limit of largemouths to the scales. The team had about 3 hours of
prefishing. The prefishing plans were scrapped
and the team fished docks and
Carolina
rigs in 10 to 14 f.o.w. The teams two larger fish came off docks, fishing
in already pressured areas.
A
special thanks to the town of
Paynesville
