Darin
now lives in the Northwest suburbs of
Chicago
and considers his home waters to be
Lake
Wisconsin
. His 2007 schedule will be devoted to fishing the Wisconsin Team
Circuit, Dave’s Division. Darin also plans on fishing open tournaments
in the
Madison
,
Wisconsin
area, as well as some in other areas of the state. In the summer months,
he fishes most weekends, with a few scattered weekdays connected to
them. He enjoys learning new waters and reading lake maps to locate
bass. His fishing strengths would include flipping jigs and plastics as
well as swimming jigs.
I
am 35 years old and live in

. I have been married now for 12 years to the most wonderful and
understanding woman in the world. She continues to encourage me when
others would not. I have been teaching science to middle school students
for nine years and I have loved every minute of it. My wife Jennifer and
I have no children, but we have two labs that demand a lot of our
attention.
I
grew up fishing the waters of
Lake
Wisconsin
and the
Wisconsin River
. My family lived in Harmony Grove and I quickly fell in love with bass
fishing. Whether it was wading the shallows casting spinner baits, or
wading off of the main river channel for small mouths, I was almost
always chasing bass. I fished in my first club tournament and won at the
age of 14 on the river and never lost the passion.
After
graduating from college at the
University
of
Wisconsin La Crosse
, my wife and I settled on the shores of
Lake
Onalaska
. It was then that I resumed my competitive fishing. I fished in the
Black River Bassmaster’s Wisconsin Federation club for three years. In
those three years, I qualified to fish our zone tournament three times.
I ended up fishing zone twice. Those two years, I also qualified to fish
at the state tournament. Since then, I have been fishing open tournament
in the
Madison
,
Wisconsin
area. This past year I fished the Great Lakes BFL and finished the year
in 56th place of the regional standings. I will be taking the
year off from the BFL due to a new job opportunity, but look forward to
returning to it soon.
