Danny’s love for fishing began as he was a small child. He spent many summer vacations with his Dad, Grandfather and Uncles fishing for Walleye on several upper mid-west and Canadian lakes. He grew up near the Wisconsin River and spent every available moment down below the Petenwell Dam on Castle-Rock flowage catching walleye, white bass and northern pike. At the age of 12, Danny’s family moved from rural Wisconsin to Suburban Chicago IL, away from the Wisconsin River but close to many Bass infested farm ponds. This is when his passion for bass fishing started. “My friend’s family owned a 2 acre farm pond that was loaded with 5 pound Largemouth.” Shortly after, his aunt married a man named Dave Ondrla who was an avid Bass fisherman. “He owned a bass boat and we fished together a bunch.” Danny and his new Uncle became good fishing buddies. Later on, when he was in High School, Danny and his Uncle began to fish the Mid-West bass circuit tournaments. That is when he was first introduced to tournament bass fishing and he has been addicted ever since. Twenty years later, Danny and his uncle Dave are still fishing tournaments together.

During College, Danny studied Marketing and has put his education to good use working in the sales arena. His background later brought him down to Nashville TN where he accepted a position for “Team Winston” in the NASCAR circuit. While living in Tennessee , Danny learned a lot about fishing southern reservoirs and spent most of his free time on Kentucky / Barkley lakes, Percy Priest and Old Hickory. In 2000, Danny moved back to Wisconsin in order to be close to the Mississippi river which he considers to be one of the greatest bass fisheries in the world.

Danny is an outdoor journalist. His articles are regularly featured in several regional publications including the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune, Lake Country Snapshots and the Juneau County Messenger.

As one of the owners of Yellow River Outfitters, a successful guide service, Danny spends much time on the water locating fish for his clients. This enables him to practice new techniques, field test baits for his product sponsors and to better understand the seasonal patterns of bass. All of this helps him to stay focused on his goal of eventually fishing professionally full time.

Danny has had a great deal of recent success on the tournament trail as well. So far in 2007 he has racked up five, top 5 finishes in local and regional tournaments including 2 wins. Since 2004 Danny has come in the top 10 in BFL and Team Supreme events on 6 occasions not including a 4^th place finish at the 2005 Everstart series on the Mississippi river . For the remainder of the 2007 season, Danny will be fishing the BFL Great Lakes division, The MSBC circuit and several opens in his region. His plan for 2008 is to fish the FLW Series as a co-angler and the Stren series and BFL boater divisions.
