Thank you for showing an interest in our club.  I will try to answer a few questions that you might have, and be as brief as I can.

What is CEDAR VALLEY BASSMASTERS?  We are a non-profit organization.  We are a chapter of B.A.S.S., which is a national organization which is committed to stimulate public awareness of fishing, promote clean water, legal enforcement of regulatory standards, to call public and political attention to polluters, and to up‑grade standards for our childrens future.

Where does the fun start?  We start with a number of point-tournaments within our club.  From these we determine our top twelve (12) fishermen.  They are sent to the state tournament.  This process continues until someone will compete in the BASSMASTERS Championship.  We encourage family involvement.  We have several non-point tournaments.  These include a Powder Puff, for the wife or girlfriend; the Father/Son, you can bring anyone on this one; and the Ice Fisheree, for the community and families.  There are several other social events throughout the year.

Will you learn anything?  You will learn different techniques that you will use in dozens of fishing conditions.  You will learn how to locate bass in seasonal conditions.  In time you will be joining the 10% of anglers that catch 90% of the bass.  In short, we are a group of men and women that share an interest in fishing, and are obligated to have fun and share information.

So, if you have read this far, you probably are interested.  The thought has probably occurred to you:

Can I afford a bass-boat and the fancy equipment?  The fact is, no boat is required.  Neither is the fancy equipment.  All that is needed is your desire to learn and have fun.
