Published Date: 6/12/2011
John Dixon & Drew Lynch took top honors at the USA Bassin Tournament on Lake Barkley at the Barkley Lodge on Saturday. They came in with 25.00 lbs and tied for big bass with a 5.40 lb largemouth with the team of Mike Saleeba & Rodney Brown. John & Drew caught their fish on Kentucky Lake on secondary ledges and main lake ledges with deep crankbaits and Taboo jigs on All Pro Rods that helped bring in the big bag. Renegade Marine and Sportsman’s Edge Marine helped them get to and from the spots they fished. Bassmedics Rejuvenade helped keep the fish alive in the 85* water temps. They said the hit 2 or 3 spots before they hit a school and ended up catching 3 or 4 limits to end up with their final weight.
Chad Walker & Clint Huntsman took 2nd place with 20.95 lbs. They said their fish came from Barkley Lake on jigs. Clint is employed at Mid South Marine in Clarksville, TN.
Jim Bayes & Woody Littlejohn came in 3rd place with a total weight of 19.85 lbs. Their fish came from Barkley Lake as well on crankbaits and swimbaits. Mike Saleeba and Rodney Brown finished in 5th place with 19.40 lbs. 4th place finishers were Monti Morris and Morris Mudd with 19.70 lbs. With the numbers of boats that showed, they were able to pay 5 places. There were 29 boats that came out to withstand the hot temps and high humidity. Tim and Herb Mills were tournament directors for the USA Bassin Little River Division and the weigh in went smooth even with high temps. 19 teams with 5 fish limits and 124 total fish were caught for a total of 316.45 lbs. Next week 6/18/11 will be our last spring tournament we will be crowning our division champion. It’s to close to call with 5 teams within a few points of each other. We will be having a Fall Division going out of Little River. I will give you the dates as soon as we put it together. |
