Walker and Welter bring home the W!
By: Glenn Walker
Published Date: 6/29/2009
FutureBass Pro-Staffer Glenn Walker and partner Alex Welter took first place in the third Hawgz Bass Series event, held out of Harpers Ferry, Iowa on Sunday, June 28th. All of the 13 teams reported catching a lot of bass, but many were below the 14 in. requirement. Glenn and Alex had a slow start to the day, but after a few key adjustments they were able to put together a 12.9 lb. five fish-limit and take top honors. The weather was perfect for a day on the water and the team caught there fish on RC Tackle RC Beavers on Texas and Carolina rigs, fishing main river rock and wood. Two main keys two their success was Seaguar Inviz X fluorocarbon and Eagle Claw wide gap light wire hooks. The sensitive line and light wire hooks helped the team detect and get solid hook ups on light biting bass in the wind.
Glenn would like to thank his sponsors; FutureBass, Eagle Claw, RC Tackle, Quantum, Seaguar and TRICOR Insurance for all playing key roles in the finish today.
Second place had 12.6 lb.
Third place had 12.3 lb. Big Bass was 3.5 lb.
