Recently I was asked to review Izorlines Platinum copolymer monofilament. When it comes to monofilament line I primarily use it for 3 applications, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and topwater. With that being the case I figured the only way to really get a good comparison was to spool it up and use it that same way. I used the 12 lb for crankbaits and spinnerbaits and the 8 lb for topwater. I have had some experience using this line for crankbaits in the past and just like before I loved it. It is lower stretch than some mono and also has low memory. One of my favorite techniques with a crankbait is to dredge along sand points with scattered rocks. I have always been very impressed with the abrasion resistance of Izorline while doing this. I also fished docks with the spinnerbait to see how resistant it would be to abrasion and was very pleased after rubbing it off of several posts. I was also happy with the 8lb test on my topwater rod although I never got a very good topwater bite going while testing. Overall I was very pleased with the performance of the Izorline Platinum. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
